The Yahoo! Apps Service Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer possessing experience in working with large scale production deployments with good development skills in building monitoring, diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.

The position entails

working on the reliability, scalability and performance aspects of distributed applications
working with large scale production deployments of thousands of servers
building tools to manage, monitor and trouble shoot large scale networks

Skills & Experience

To be successful, you must have 5+ years of experience with the following skills:

operating systems (FreeBSD or similar forms of Unix)
Perl and UNIX scripting
understanding of DNS, NFS, TCP/IP and other internet protocols
very good understanding of Mysql DB's
experience in application level troubleshooting and monitoring
knowledge of tools like Netcool or Nagios would be a plus
excellent problem solving skills
excellent communication skill

BSCS or equivalent is required.
